Sentinelle Medical Patient Support Transporter Concept for Toshiba

Early concept development showing that a patient transporter could be built to maneuver in confined MRI rooms. The challenge was to develop a patient transporter for even the smallest MRI room, some of which are very confined.

Typical transporters are often large and heavy, built with a safety factor of four times maximum patient weight. That could be as much as 800 kg.

A concept for a reconfigurable transporter horizontal stage that can be used for many kinds of MRI imaging systems. For breast systems, the narrow element that connects the head and foot end of the stage is positioned at the centre. For prostate systems, it’s at the side. The gap between the head and foot end can also be closed off completely.
